On Friday in Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con, Danny Rand was given a reprieve and lives to chase after the vanished K’un-Lun another day.
During the Marvel Television panel, Netflix revealed it has renewed Marvel’s Iron Fist for a second season. Following dreadful reviews and ho-hum fan response, the streaming service had been decidedly quiet regarding the future of the show. Danny Rand’s (Finn Jones) cohorts had each received thumb’s up on new seasons, but even a glowing hand couldn’t shed light on whether or not the story would continue.
Per Variety‘s report, head of Marvel TV Jeph Loeb mentioned that Luke Cage‘s Simone Missick might reprise her role as Misty Knight in the second season, potentially joining Jessica Henwick’s Colleen Wing for adventures in the second frame.
In the comics, Wing and Knight frequently partnered as the Daughters of the Dragon, the name Colleen went by in her cage fighting matches during the first season of Iron Fist. Misty was also romantically involved with Danny Rand for a time in the comics.
Could this also portend a potential Heroes for Hire team-up between the unbreakable Defender and the warrior Defender in Season 2? Following their working together in The Defenders, it’s possible we might see Danny pop up in Cage’s own sophomore year.
With Daredevil Season 3, Jessica Jones Season 2, and Luke Cage Season 2 all slated for 2018, we likely won’t see the fourth series return until sometime in 2019.
