Claire Temple won’t be patching up Frank Castle in 2017, Rosario Dawson confirms.
Speaking with Collider about her upcoming film Unforgettable, the conversation naturally turned to Dawson’s role as the connective tissue between each of the four primary Netflix series that will converge in The Defenders later this summer.
In talking about cast scheduling logistics making it difficult for Claire to contact, say, Matt Murdock during Iron Fist to warn him about the Hand, Dawson lamented not being able to work on the newest standalone series to the Marvel Netflix family.
At the end of the day, it’s really hard to get all of those casts together. For The Defenders, it was difficult to get everybody together. People are busy! There are so many times where I really want it to happen. I really wanted to do a cameo on MThe Punisher, but it doesn’t always work that way.
This will be the first of the Netflix series not to feature Dawson’s steadfast, opinionated nurse.
Marvel’s The Punisher will feature the return of Jon Bernthal as the iconic vigilante after his debut in Daredevil Season 2. The story is rumored to be both prequel and sequel to his Daredevil arc.
The first season does not have an official premiere date yet, but it’s expected to drop in September or November later this year.
