  • The footage of young Kevin Thompson being experimented on by his parents doesn’t get into too much specific about how Kilgrave’s power works, implying that it is some type of telepathic mind control. Yet, Kilgrave’s power doesn’t work unless he is in an open environment with his victim, suggesting it is more like the Purple Man’s power in the comics. Purple Man secrets a pheromone that makes others susceptible to his suggestion.
  • In the comics, there is a minor character named Michael Kozlov (originally Miklos Kozlov), a Russian scientist. It is not clear if Dr. Kozlov is based on this character or not.
  • Also in the comics, Frank Simpson/Nuke, the character Will Simpson is based on, was on a regimen of placebo pills that were supposed to assist and control various functions of his cybernetically-enhanced body. Nuke was given a facial scar by Wolverine that resembled the American flag and eventually tattooed the flag onto his face. The pill regimen consisted of red pills, white pills, and blue pills, speaking to the supersoldier concept and Simpson’s overzealous patriotism.
