Marvel TV announced today that Vincent D’Onofrio will reprise his role as Wilson Fisk in Season 3 of Marvel’s Daredevil.

The accomplished actor brought the ersatz Kingpin to life as a regular cast member in the series’ first season, creating one of the most nuanced and indelible characters, let alone villains, in the extended Marvel Cinematic Universe. He then appeared in a guest star run during the second season, intersecting both Matt Murdock’s and Frank Castle’s stories.

As the third season of the series looks to adapt, in part, the seminal “Born Again” storyline from the source material comics, the Kingpin plays a large part in the story. Bringing D’Onofrio back makes a lot of sense, and we can expect Fisk to make Matt’s life a living hell.

Production on the new season of Daredevil is expected to begin later this year. The series is planned to debut on Netflix at sometime in 2018.
