Some familiar faces are banding together to help out The Defenders.
Marvel’s The Defenders, the 8-episode mini-saga that will bring the four major heroes of the Netflix series together to take on Sigourney Weaver’s common threat, began filming last week. ComingSoon gives us our first look at a scene between Jessica Jones and Luke Cage‘s Misty Knight.
Over the last week, the production has been confirming the existing supporting characters from each core series leading up to The Defenders — Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and the upcoming Iron Fist — who will appear with their respective hero in the mini-series.
By a series of videos on the official Twitter feed of the production, they’ve confirmed the following:
On Halloween, Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page) and Simone Missick (Misty Knight) were revealed to be joining the cast.

The next day, the curtain was pulled back to reveal Carrie-Anne Moss (Jeri Hogarth), Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson), and Eka Darville (Malcolm) are back, as well.

And today, Elodie Yung’s Elektra was revealed to be back, though this was more or less set up and expected at the end of Daredevil‘s second season.

Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle, aka The Punisher, has yet to be announced for The Defenders. It’s possible he’s not in the mini-series, but I wouldn’t count him out. Might we also still see some of the villains, like D’onofrio’s Wilson Fisk or Woodard’s Mariah Dillard, make an appearance?
Marvel’s The Defenders is expected to appear on Netflix sometime in 2017.
