Marvel and Netflix will let the Devil out and the darkness in a lot quicker than we all expected: Season 3 drops on October 19!

For those keeping score, we’ve now managed to get seasons for each of the individual Defenders all in one year: Jessica Jones back in March, Luke Cage in June, and Danny Rand’s great rebound in Iron Fist just a couple of weeks ago. At this rate, it’s possible we might even get The Punisher Season 2 before the year is out.

(Though, I believe they are shooting for a 2019 release. Pun intended.)

Netflix dropped a trailer today announcing the new release date. Check that out below. Still no official episode count, but I’d expect 13 despite the effective 10 episodes of Iron Fist‘s second season.

Matt Murdock was believed killed in the collapse of the Midland Circle building at the close of The Defenders miniseries. In a coda, Matt was found to have somehow escaped and his wounds were being tended to by nuns, including potentially his mother, Maggie.

In glimpses of the new season, it appears the Daredevil persona might stay buried for a while, as Matt returns to his black Devil of Hell’s Kitchen look to unleash some justice.
