While Hall H guests at the Marvel Televison panel at San Diego Comic-Con got to dine on the first episode of Marvel’s The Defenders, they finished the evening with a treat of first footage from the upcoming first season on Marvel’s The Punisher.
Labeled “gritty” by Entertainment Weekly, what screened of the Jon Bernthal-starrer including a scene of deadly sniper Frank Castle picking off a drug cartel enforcer in seedy Juarez, Mexico from across the international border in El Paso, as well as some gallows humor following a gruesome airport restroom fight scene.
Deadline also mentions scenes of Castle hunting down a biker gang in Alabama and a touching scene in flashback of Frank playing guitar with his daughter.
From the sounds of it, Castle will be on a bit of a cross-country road trip through part of the series, taking down criminals before making his way back to New York.
Below is the official press release from the Marvel Television panel at SDCC.
